Board members: Mr. Prateek Pashine Tata Communications Internet Services Limited Chief Operating Officer

Post his degree in Electronics Engineering from VRCE, Nagpur, Prateek  Pashine completed his Management degree from Institute of Management, Bangalore, with specialization in Finance, Corporate Strategy and Marketing.

He joined the Tata Administrative Services in 1995 and was deputed to Tata Industries to work on projects like International Technology Park in Bangalore and restructuring of Tata's & Lucent's business interests in the telecom sector in India.  He joined Tata Lucent and worked as an Executive Assistant to Managing Director.  He also assumed additional responsibility of Project Financing. From thereon, he moved to head Business Case and Pricing.

Moving from telecom solutions to the hospitality industry, he was responsible for the e-initiative of the Taj group of hotels, parallely involved with a start-up Company of the Tata group in the business of speech recognition, where he was responsible for Sales, Marketing, Finance and HR.

As the opportunity came along to head the Procurement division of TTSL, he took the charge of handling the responsibility of negotiations for network equipment for all new circles of TTSL.

In March 2002, he moved to VSNL after the privatization, handled procurement for NLD switches and transmission equipment, setting up the Retail Business and launching new products for the company.  He was involved in getting the VSNL Lanka operations on its feet and served as Director on the VSNL Lanka Board, till recently.

He is the Chairman and Board Member on the board of WBA (Wireless Broadband Alliance), a Global organization having leading Wireless Broadband Operators from across the World as its members.

Prateek is a recipient of the prestigious Fullbright Scholarship of US and was selected to attend Fulbright-CII Fellowship programme for Leadership in Management at the Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA, in 2006.

He has also been a member on the Indo-Japan ICT Working Group on Broadband, which was an Indian Government initiative to explore the possibility of collaborating in broadband business development between the two countries.

He has worked and handled various responsibilities such as Marketing, Technical Service Planning, Regulatory and Business Development and currently heads the operations of Tata Communications Internet Services Limited (a fully owned subsidiary of Tata Communications) as the Chief Operating Officer.
