Board Members: Mr. Mehul Kapadia Tata Communications Internet Services Limited Director

Mehul Kapadia is currently part of the Program Management Office (PMO) for the Wimax Auction and Roll out for Tata Communications. Within the PMO, he manages the business piece including the roll out strategy, customer lifecycle management, go to market strategy, products, etc.

Till recently he was the Head – Sales and Marketing for the Retail Business of Tata Communications and was responsible for Product Planning and Management, Communications, National Sales for Broadband and Dial up, Strategic Alliances and Business Planning.

Till recently he was the Chair of the Business Marketing Work Group of the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) and an active participant of the Wimax Forum India Chapter.

An engineer with specialization in Electronics and Telecommunication and a MBA with specialization in Marketing, Mehul started his career with FCB – Ulka, a leading advertising agency in India. Post that he moved onto Tata’s start up venture in the internet space Tata Internet Services Limited. As a Brand Manager, he launched one of India’s fastest growing internet services of that time. In the same company, he was also involved in the initial business planning for Tata’s venture into the mobile and landline space in Mumbai and Maharashtra circles.

Post the acquisition of VSNL by the Tata Group, Mehul moved on to help set up the Retail Business Unit. Starting off as a Marketing Manager he handled responsibilities of creation of the new billing systems, retail channel and product platform for increasing the suite of products from just dial up to adding Calling Cards and Net Telephony. He was then instrumental in the integration of the acquisition of the Broadband business of Dishnet into Tata Communications and headed the entire portfolio of products including – Wired Broadband, Wimax Broadband, Wi-Fi, Cybercafes, Dial Up and Net Telephony.
